Victoria Heath

Name: Victoria Heath
Major: English Lit and Cultural Studies
Graduation date: Spring 2016
Plans after graduation:
Continue working at DHS, look for jobs, go to grad school to be a practicing licensed counselor - hopefully for LGBTQ youth/people.
Why did you choose to major/minor in WGS:
I had always been very interested in women's issues and gender issues, but when I took intro to WGS with Dr. Day, I knew this was what I had to major in.
What do you like about majoring/minoring in WGS:
I like everything about it to be honest. I like that we take courses about and discuss things that are so socially and culturally important, while studying what women before us have done, and really studying the systems that create how we perceived, express and preform gender.
Why is WGS important to you:
WGS is important to me because it's my life. Not only is there a focus on women, but also gender, identity, sexuality, social justice, cultures other than our own etc. WGS should be important for everyone.
