She first became interested in minoring in Women's and Gender Studies after taking Domestic Violence Law with JoAnna Wall. After this course she was excited to look at the other courses offered by the department. "Women's and Gender Studies affects my overall education in a big way," she said, " Being a woman in a world of broadcast journalism is different. Women's and Gender Studies helps me to understand the meaning of communication between the sexes and therefore, communicate effectively." After graduating, her plans are to attend law school. In her free time she enjoys spending time rock-climbing, painting, playing the piano and the flute, singing, and photography. "My favorite part of OU so far has been building relationships with classmates and professors."
